You And Me
03:26
|
|

Here we are
A new decade
In the 21st Century
Move over
2020 is all about clarity
The air is limited
But I got enough to breathe
No monoxide poisoning
While all the big fishy's are slowly dying
Rinse repeat
Let the ocean breathe
Like you and me
Overseas
Under the stars
Comes night again
But we pray
that the daylight saves us
When we wake
To the singing in the trees
Birds flying
At heights never seen
All the blue and green
The whites dying
Above and below me
I wonder what the kids see
Their planetary destruction
Started way before
This air they breathe
Vaping like there's no 3rd degree
burning
Learning young
Our flaws of past centuries
Thoughts and prayers
Sentiments we don't need
Heed the call
Gather round kids
Don't be undermined
By the slavery
Around the world
There are things you don't see
Maybe you'd never believe
But taking chances
When you take a glance
At how we aren't any more advanced
Then the rest of them
Might break the chains
That keep us binded
Blinded
In empathy
Over you vs me
It's all of us
Trust me
We all need to take a breath
Give a breath
Give a damn
Just breathe
Sea to sea
See what they don't want you to see
A part of them is a part of you
It's a part of me
That made living
So much harder
To believe
People forced into killing one another
due to the state of beliefs
Passed down
Through generations
Of old school memories
Be a leader in the new school
Keep some oxygen
For the rest of them
Drop the guns
The mini-bombs
We don't need them
As protection from our own violence
Recreated
Like we were born to hate
Shorten the lives and other peoples fates
When we won't even have a planet
To pass down
No more human extinction
By the hands of our ancestors
We were born to breathe
Til our last breath
Let it not be taken by power and greed
Put your money where your mouth is
Hey kids
How you gonna live
beyond what the hatred did
Fires burning
Choking up with smoke
No more hydrogen
For the future gens
Less we give a little
Take a little
And spread
what humanity we have left
In our beliefs
That the world could still be
A better place
For those born in form
That want to birth
Another form
Of human decency
Please
It's up to us
To place the trust
that we go hand in hand
In the lands
That unite us
Rather than separate and divide us.
We all come from somewhere
We weren't born alone
We came from our mothers
Also born of this earth
Time to give back
The first breath
Like it's been our only one
To give a damn
Keep on breathing
Keep the breath moving
Pass it on
Oxygen
We need it

Low riding
like i cruising on my brothers bmx
Got my own blue angel when i was only six
Double seater banana rider
Blue wheels
back pedal breaks
hold up
I don't know how to stop
without the handbreaks
crashing into crews
gathered round the complex
Life's like picking up your bike again
Only you stand taller
ride faster
no more tricks
on my tricycle
banged up my chin
double time
standing on the shoulders of my sis
came down hard
on the record player
hard box
For my disney discs
built in players
remember
when they came like this?
Djs got their turntables
single players
like fisher price
had mad records
Multi disc colour makers
for the movers and the shakers
Times were easy then
Your only job was to be a kid
Play around all the time
even adults can't handle this
They gotta nine to five
Just to thrive
I don't have many papers
But then again I don't worry
about paying off shit
I couldn't afford in the first place
second place
I'm okay with this
I can handle this
Without the pressures
Under pressure
Cold as Ice
Sipping T
gives me the adrenaline
Like the coffee
My mama let me taste
When I was just a kid
Got hooked by the coffee mate
Now I'm shook no more sugar
But I get to do it all over again
My way
Riding in my mind
It's a pleasure of mine
Remember this
Take your time
to do your own shit
Just keep your mind high
Like a child
the first time you see
anything worth a damn
Remember it sticks like stone
Those are the memories
Like my papa told me
don't be down
Remember when I told you
Bombs
I gave the trigger to the kids
When I was only six
It blew up the neighbourhood
How long did I have to hold onto this?
Just keep it light
Like we did
Before all the strife
Relax
Take your time
Be a kid again
If you never got a chance
Try to do it
In a new way
That's the new wave
No grenades
Just lemonade
Take your chill pill
Fats Domino
Up on blueberry hill
MMM Dessert
Tastes like victory
In my mind
I got the senses
From everything
I've experienced in my life
And y'all will get your chance
To retire
Into the good life
But it won't be
As good as mine
Cause this is my Life.

The Teachable
03:31
|
|
||
Who's the teacha?
The mad preacher?
KRS crossed over
Imma take the stakes
And take over- NAS
A foundation
Mad stable
Like Jesus born
To these three Kings
The wisemen
Frankensence and Mur
We just need to make some sense
Outta this world
Kids listen to your teachers
They might have good things to say
And they barely even getting paid
Laid off cause the system never works
At placing precedence over presidents
Trying to devise the bullshit they started
That's why you gotta brain
To use against the abused
I said make sense
Not nonsense
Less you can be nonsensical
Sensational about the world
Fly right by
Over the heads
Of the bullshitters
Who don't give a damn
About
Her or him
or him or her
Word?
Gotta learn the words
To use them
Gotta train your brain
Not to lose it
I've gone mad too many times
This my world
I don't bestow this upon anyone
But teach yourself
To rise above
If there's no one else around
To help you do these things
Learn from your own beginnings
You can always begin again
Just don't repeat
What defeats you
We gotta rise above
In this together
Til the very end
Teachas mad preachers
When they got substance
Not all of them
Trust this
That's why you gotta
Keep your eyes
On the prize
That this about you
Not the rest of them
Stop the naysayers
That say War is the only game
Outta the gate
Before giving peace a chance
Or giving enhancement a chance
The rapper
Ain't about vendettas
It's just about spitting venom
In the faces of mad disgracements
Displacement
In a society
That doesn't preach what it speaks
They talk just to talk
They still crawling
Can't walk the walk
They'd rather die
Than try
Piecing together the peace
OF fragmented justice
When it's not their place
To say
Religious war fare goes this way
Not believing it could go away
If we just gave praise
Praise
To the Allahs of one place
One love One hope
Other peoples lives ain't a joke
Imma getting choked out
I gotta let go I just gotta
Cause I've been taught
To speak my thoughts
After midnight I make melodies
With someone elses beats
But this is how I speak
Just to let it go
All the un-just-ice
UnJust
Trust this

Asian Invasion WW
04:17
|
|
||
See my true colours
Shining through
True colours
Girls just wanna bump for fun
But not that white shit
But the humptydump
Do the humptydump
2pac either way
Biggie players like to play
Like they street fighting
Like Chun Li but Honda
Got the biggest hump to slam that trunk
NES Ni\s wanna play the game
Crushing hadukens all day
But me gots some dhalsim
stretching out in that voodoo way
Floating we all floating
No one gloating
Just goating
It's the game
Control moves
Cheating by pressing all the buttons
In any manner any way
Just to get some bison
Like goons from neptune
I never made it to the sunset
But I witnessed my brother
Win every game
Staying up late
Watching Zelda and Mario
Beat the game
The system players
Know how super it feels
To defeat the anime
Versions upon versions
Updating everyday
Never played it safe
At the arcade
Mortal kombat ain't the way
To defeat immortal enimays
Olympic games
That the shit
On a desktop system
PC version
Keeping it clean
Respect your cleaners
They take that shit you spoiled
Right off the boiler
Always got room
For more play
Girls just like to do it that way
Call them vicious or vindictive
I just trying to dominate my own game
I'm a single player
On a multi player system
But we're all having fun
Cause girls - guys- just wanna have fun
But don't be dumb
Found out he sold out
To the k-pop systemic race
Just to stay a player
Awkwafina- now that girl's got some heavy shit to say
My way or the highway
Crazy rich
Mellow yellow
Can't believe it ain't butter
For mass invasion
Asian invasion
Coming your way
It already on the up and up
So listen up
We ain't our parents
But trust this
They gave us foundation
Even air guitar players
know how to win the game
System failure
And we done.
Better update every system

Liberty Of The Peoples
03:32
|
|
||
Remember those days my friend
My friend the end
People are strange
When they don't know themselves like we do
Self- reflection is a part of being human and you
It's in everybody's minds
where do we fit in this equation of pi
Ever eternal to space
Collapsing over time
Rhyme after rhyme
Like a lullaby
Singing sweet tunes til the day I die
Don't assume of mine
These problems of the world
The whole universe
They might not be my problems
But the problems are still mine
If we all rode in tandem
There'd be mayhem
Communists are not about socialism
The Island never tried like Huxley who futurized
Comparable Aldous to Adolf
When will the people rise
They're in succession with the times
Opposing sides
MAke sure your on the best of them
That protects the rest of them
Remember the days
When no one ever felt this way
At least not monumentously in past centuries
It's been awhile
THE Liberty of the people
Who fight to stay alive
No more liberty to dose who devise
Division kills tribes
Let us all untie
My country, may not be your country
But we all country
Inside
Nelson Mandela had it
And so did Willy
They do the jive
They do done did it right
Let's speak for the people
Because we believe in every child
That they get a chance to thrive
Without bias to bullshit practices
Of death and dying traditions
Unite
One Love Inside
Makes two loves
Fit like a glove
If you love enough of the people
We's all unite.
Save the world
Before it dies.
Before it kills us softly
Eats up our minds
What do they say
Eat Pray Love
I've never tried
Trotting around the circumference
Like I'm some sophisticated educated lady
I am pretty comfortable
Where I ride
Wherever the tides take me
I'm comfortable inside
That's what I want for the world.
A sense of comfort
To be in your own skin
Without having to try
We already worldwide
So spread the message
To all those trying tribes
We love and respect all of them

Masquerade
02:30
|
|
||
Masquerade paper faces on parade
Masquerade
The phantoms come at night
To seduce my brain
Sing sweet songs of how we been made
Cultures clashing
Before they been taken over
To be paraded as the next thang
To copy, cut, delete... repeat
Never knowing the origins of where they came
Only to Capitalize commercialize tradition
From another planet
Same space
Different race
Religions of trade
That's how you get made
Don't mistake
This masquerade
We all just paper faces on parade
We got V for vendettas
Only shade the truth
Of trying to escape
From the games of the Masquerade
Game over
We've all been on display
As objections
To the holders gaze
Subjects to be tested
Never bested
That's what I'll trade
Places for
Just to play
In the game
of Life
To Monopolize
My masquerade
For a real face
A lil aged
But aged to perfection
Over time
Can't deny
We all in this
To give a future
history of today
Lest we forget
All the Gravediggas
of our Bones
Thugs and Harmony
Hello kitty melody
Memories
Masquerade over
Face to face
Extradite the fake.
We just paper faces
On display
In this masquerade
Sing, Sing, Sing for me
In this masquerade
Paper planes paper faces on display
Masquerade
It's the web that we weave
For upheaval
Of the souls of the gravediggas
For the soul deep down
In real place and time of the space
We just paper faces on display
Masquerade

Take A Pause
03:09
|
|
||
Hey hold up
Take a pause
There's no cause
To ring the alarm
Raise your arms
If you feel
Sometimes
You just need to take a pause
Take a breath
Freshen up
I was born a horse
Built to work
But I gotta stay the course
To be happy
When there too much going on yappy
Yappi this
Ey yo papi
Settle down
In a stable
Frame manger
Stay in the hanger
Dem flights be bangers
These days
Burning up like the rest
On the ground
Waiting to be saved
Waiting to be found
This calls
Collateral damage
Ain't something
We should have to manage
Twits tweeting
To de-escalate
A war they started
Maybe they got afraid
They should ALL be ashamed
By their behaviour
Never got a whooping from their fore-fathers
Thinking they all the godsons
From which bridges
Are born
We all come in different shapes and forms
Never hurry
Never scurry your mind
When it comes time
To reality
For you to relax your mind
If you find peace within
You'll see peace
Right outside
Your door
Welcome mat on the floor
That you can sleep upon
Come on in
When other humans
Wanna kick you right out
We all begin
How everyone else began
That's why we share
Origin
Original moments, these original immigrants
On the same planet
In the burn together
Taking over in the wind
Time to wind down
Let the right ones in
And then we shall begin again
And let reality settle in.
This ain't the end
Let it begin again and again
Take a pause

BORN IN CANADA
03:28
|
|
||
Born in Canada, Grew up on the States
Didn't know the provinces til I was about eight
Memorized the states on the maps I be looking at
Doing those crazy grocery store IQ Tests
Entertainment was real vs quality of the vid
Canadian made had its own aesthetic taste
Americana was the age we grew up on on the telly
TV was basic no cable needed
VHS was a luxury we were given as a gift
Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make mixed muchmusic tapes
I knew the map of america was important for a reason
Just now do I realize how much it caused division
Civil injustices creeping in the northern border
Gun violence and murder
Racism is international but no longer just systemic
It's fueling each other blind of colour
And religion
I wish it were like back in the days
When kids could be kids
Riding around without the injustices to face
Truthsayers would speak
But people thought before reacting
There was an intelligence
Older kids today be lacking
Lock'em up
That's all we be hearing
Lock it down
Knock em out
Before your moms heart gets broken
Sticks and stones were the only toys we needed
Now we play with the riddim
Bringing back rhymes we learnt as children
To give rhyme to reason
To the games today be playing
Educate that you are not living
In a virtual reality
Systemic division is a physical virtuosity
PBS SCTV at second city
Own your place
Before it gets taken
By tready fingers
Who licking you over with the bullshit
Presses.
It's digital mf's digital impressions
Go tell your friends
It's time to live the vision
The future is here in the present
Take your gifts
And teach them your life lessons
Your stories will carry further
Than any of mine
Cause I'm outta time
But I stepping in line
With what the kids have to say
Cause one day... the world will be yours.
The world is yours.
We gonna sit behind you and listen
Listen up
Your thoughts and ideas will transform other generations
Whether they come after or before you
We all here right behind you
If you about living for the rest of them
This ain't a test
This ain't your school bell alarming
We are and will forever be
brothers and sisters in arms.
In this race
For equality
Of the People
We just be people
We are People
Let's be better people
